About me

In a nutshell this blog is about me going from this:                     To this:

Anyone who's known me for more than 20 years will attest to the the fact that I have always been a little bit well..... weird.  I have a vivid memory of one of those "perfect" girls who always got really good grades and never got punches in her badge (Mrs. Johamm 1st grade) saying "Kelley, you are sooooo weird "  It always used to bug me and I have spend a good deal of my life feeling inferior, never really fitting in, and being afraid of what people thought.
In high school I was a cheerleader but was the one that always had trouble getting my body to do the dance moves correctly.  My legs were so long and gangly and my cheer-leading coach would affectionately refer to me as "daddy long legs".  I did not discover this was actually a good thing until I started dating : )
Without giving you a much of sappy boring details about the butterfly coming out of her cacoon or some crap like that, I will tell you that I am starting this blog to share my journey from awkward kid to confident, athlete & adventurer!
This all started when I made the most difficult but rewarding decision of my life in February when I
left my husband and filed for divorce. The details of our situation aren't important.  What is important is that I have lived more life in the past six months than I had lived in the past 10 years.  I have come to a spot where I fully accept myself (most of the time), go with my gut, and have started doing stuff that is hard, uncomfortable, and sometimes scares me.
